What if my company has closed?
That is our focus. Closed companies often still hold email, chat, documents, code and CRM records, and some buyers seek them out. We start by finding what remains and who holds the rights.
What do you mean by records?
Email and chat history, documents and wikis, project files, code repositories, support tickets, CRM and design files. Buyers call this data. It shows how real work was done.
Who are the buyers?
AI companies and data labs that license business records. Public examples with published programs for licensing business records include Mercor, micro1, Scale AI, Handshake AI and Turing (Project Lazarus). Market examples, not Basic Trace clients.
Is the process private?
Yes, from the first conversation. Records are only shared with buyers under agreement.
Is there an NDA? What happens to my records?
You do not need to send records to start. Before any records go to a buyer, a written agreement sets the terms. Raise specific confidentiality needs on the first call.
Is there a fee?
Zero upfront fees or retainers. The call, review and estimate cost you nothing.
Who owns the records after licensing?
You keep your business. Licensed records are shared under an agreement that sets the terms. We explain licensing versus sale before you agree to anything.
What are records and IP worth?
It depends on what you hold, and only a buyer can make an offer. The Market page lists published third-party ranges with sources. They are not Basic Trace quotes.
How long does it take?
A buyer estimate within a couple of days of understanding what you own. Closing a deal depends on the records and the buyer.
